The Special Committee is directed to study issues relating to American Indians and the American Indian tribes and bands in this state and develop specific recommendations and legislative proposals relating to these issues.  [s. 13.83 (3), Stats.]

August 27, 2009 Meeting in Lac du Flambeau, WI
A meeting of tribal police chiefs, tribal attorneys, county sheriffs, county corporation counsels, and members of the Joint Legislative Council's Special Committee on State-Tribal Relations, relating to mutual assistance between tribal police departments and county sheriff's departments, will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2009, in Lac du Flambeau, WI.  This is not a meeting of the Special Committee on State-Tribal Relations, but will be held at the direction of the Special Committee to provide input and generate recommendations for the Special Committee on that subject.
