Blue Book Banner
Governor's Letterhead

July 2007

Dear Readers:

Wisconsin residents are fortunate to live in a state with such a strong progressive tradition. Constituents have a close relationship with our state’s elected leaders, dedicated to protecting our citizens and creating opportunity to grow Wisconsin.

We are truly blessed in Wisconsin. From the waters of Lake Michigan at sunrise to the shores of Lake Superior, to the bluffs of the Mississippi to the Rock River at sunset – Wisconsin is a beautiful place to live and work.

We must ensure that Wisconsin’s government lives up to Wisconsin’s values – hard work, sense of community, concern for others and commitment to educating future generations.

As public servants, we are given a short but sacred chance to serve the state we love. And it is my fi rm goal that four years from now – and four decades from now – people will look back at these years and say: in a changing and challenging time, we came together to seize the boundless opportunities before us.

As Governor, I’m proud to lead a state that embodies such tremendous vision and dedication to a bright future.

This Blue Book is an invaluable resource for all citizens. It’s an ongoing story of our state – from our history to our leaders to the citizens who elected them, and I hope that you will not only use it, but enjoy it.

Sincerely,
