Wisconsin Indian Gaming Association. Includes such topics as the economic
impact of gaming on state government revenue and reservation economies.
Examines future revenue potential of gaming.
The
Economic Impact of Native American Gaming in Wisconsin. Wisconsin Policy
Research Institute, 1995. (353.25/W755) First in a series of four publications dealing
with gambling in Wisconsin. Provides data about gambling in Wisconsin based on
a survey conducted by this organization. The report makes policy
recommendations based on this data. The premise from which it operates is that
Native American casino gambling in Wisconsin represents an economic–transfer
policy.
The
Evolution of Legalized Gambling in Wisconsin. Wisconsin Legislative
Reference Bureau, 1997 (RB 97–1). (174.6/W7a2) Summarizes the history
of legalized gambling in Wisconsin and highlights topics such as casino gaming
compacts with the state’s Indian tribes, property tax relief options, and
Internet gambling.

Discusses

report focuses on the social costs and possible ramifications of various types
of gambling. Includes bibliography of sources used by the author.

The Impact
of Indian Casino Gambling on Metropolitan Green Bay. Wisconsin Policy
Research Institute, September 1997. (353.25/W755a) This is the fourth study
done on Indian casino gambling in Wisconsin by the Institute. The report
discusses the benefits and the potential problems associated with the Oneida
casino. It also examines the interaction between the Oneidas and the local
community.

Gambling in Wisconsin. Wisconsin Legislative Fiscal Bureau (Informational
Paper #79), 1999. (174.6/W7L) Discusses all forms of legalized gambling in
Wisconsin. Indian gaming compacts are examined after discussion of the Indian
Gaming Regulatory Act and applicable court decisions. Provides specific
information about the legal aspects of gaming and the organizations set up to
monitor it. Provides information about the distribution of the revenues
generated by Indian gaming.
Report. Wisconsin Governor’s
Blue Ribbon Task Force on Gambling, 1992. (174.6/W7h) Recommendations of the
Task Force, which was created in order to assess the level of public consensus
on gambling in Wisconsin. It also analyzes the costs and benefits of state and
tribal sponsored gambling, then makes recommendations based on these findings.
The Social
Costs of Gambling in Wisconsin. Wisconsin Policy Research Institute, 1996.
(174.6/W752a) This is the second study the Institute conducted on gambling in
Wisconsin. Whereas the first dealt solely with Native American casinos, this
research deals with the social costs of all types of gambling in Wisconsin.
